The unit of magnetic flux in the centimeter-gram-second electrostatic system of units. One statweber is the magnetic flux which, linking a circuit of one turn, produces in it an electromotive force of 1 statvolt as it is reduced to zero at a uniform rate in 1 second, approximately 2.9979 × 10² weber. Symbol, statWb.
For an excellent history of the development of the electric and magnetic units up to 1913, see U. S. Bureau of Standards Circular 60.
