sɔwa [Twi]

In the Kingdom of Ashanti and the Gold Coast Colony, a unit of mass used for gold. Christaller, writing in the 19ᵗʰ century, described it as a weight of gold equal in value to 1½ dollars or ackies, or 6 shillings 9 pence.

sɔwa-fa = half a sɔwa.
