Literally, “ship pound,” one of a set of such pounds (skeppund, Schiffspfund, etc.) in Northern Europe, used in trade by sea.
In Denmark and Norway, a unit of mass, = 20 lispund = 320
skaalpund. Before 1683, about 158.5 kilograms; between 1683 and 1839, about 160.076 kg; after 1839, = 160 kilograms.
In Sweden, a unit of mass, = 20 lispund = 400 skålpund, about 170 kilograms.
