shake

A unit of time, ? – present, = 10 nanoseconds (one hundred millionth of a second, in American-style names of numbers). Probably from the catchphrases “two shakes of a lamb’s tail” or “in a shake.” It originated with American nuclear armaments researchers and is used in distinguishing events in nuclear explosions.
