In India, ? – 19ᵗʰ century,

Nal, Nul, or Nala, Nulu, H. &c. (S. ) A rod, a bambu, a reed, a measuring rod : as a standard of measure it consisted of three Iláhi-gaz or yards of Akbar, but the length varied in practice from 7½ to 9 feet; a larger rod was also in use varying from 26 to 33 feet; and another was known in Bengal of 400 cubits.
