In Taiwan, 20ᵗʰ century, a unit of length, = 1 centimeter.¹ Sometimes romanized as king fen.
The base unit here is an old Chinese unit, the fen. Here it is qualified by kung, which means public or official, or in this case, metric.
In the pinyin transliteration used on the mainland this is gōngfēn [公分], but the centimeter is usually referred to as lìmǐ [里米 or 釐米] .
