kin [Japanese]

In Japan, a unit of mass, 1891 – 1966  = 600 grams.¹  link to a table showing relationships between Japanese units of mass Sometimes referred to as a catty. Before metrication, the kin was reported at 589 grams in 1840, and, in both China and Japan, Europeans regarded it as 1.325 pounds or 601 grams.
