kav [Hebrew, קכ ]

A Biblical and subsequently Talmudic Hebrew unit of dry capacity, about 1.2 liters, (2 ²⁄₉ U.S. dry pints). Also romanized as kab, qab and cab.

It occurs in the Bible, in 2 Kings 6:25. In the King James version it is translated “cab,” in the RSV “kab.”
