In the 20ᵗʰ century, the equivalent in Chinese to the SI prefix “deci-”. For example fēnmǐ 分米, decimeter.
A minute of time, and a minute of angle or arc.
The following three units belong to the shìzhì system of weights and measures. Currently they are usually referred to as shìfēn 市分, not fēn.
a unit of length, ¹⁄₃ centimeter. Traditionally = 1/100 chi.
a unit of mass, = 0.5 grams. (UN 1966) Traditionally = 0.01 liang.
a unit of area, 66²⁄₃ square meters. (UN 1966) Traditionally = 0.1 mu.
