cicéro

A unit of type size used in Europe, about 4.5117 millimeters. It plays a role comparable to that of the pica in the United States and Britain. When Didot introduced his point system (18ᵗʰ century), the name became applied to the 12 point size, so there are 12 Didot points to a cicéro.
