In Canada, a unit of mass used in the grain trade, varying with the variety of grain. It is nominally based on the mass of an imperial bushel of the grain, but adjusted to allow for the compaction that occurs in handling grain in huge quantities. For example, a single imperial bushel filled with No. 1 Canada Western Red Spring Wheat will weigh approximately 58.2 pounds. An Avery bushel of this wheat is 60.1 pounds.
