In Spain, especially Valencia, a unit of mass, = 1/16th of an onça, approximately 1.80 grams. Used for gold and silver. By the Spanish Postal Tariff act of 1807, the weight of letters was determined in adarmes (5 adarmes or less went for 5 reales de vellón).
