In the United Kingdom and other nations using imperial measure, 1832–present, the imperial pint, also called the U.K. pint, used for both dry and liquid measure, is about 0.568 261 liters. link to a chart showing relationships between the smaller English units of capacity

In the United Kingdom, the pint became no longer legal for trade on 1 October 1995, except that it was retained indefinitely for sales of beer and cider on draft and for milk sold in returnable containers.  Up to but no later than 31 December 1999, it could be used for sales of beer, cider, water, lemonade and fruit juice in returnable containers.
