In the English-speaking world, various units of capacity that are half of a quart, and an eighth of a gallon.

In the United States, the U.S. dry pint, a unit of dry capacity, 0.550 61 liters; while the U.S. liquid pint, a unit of liquid capacity, is 0.473 176 liters.

In the United Kingdom and other nations using imperial measure, 1832–present, the imperial pint, also called the U.K. pint, used for both dry and liquid measure, is about 0.568 261 liters.

In the United Kingdom, the pint became no longer legal for trade on 1 October 1995, except that it was retained indefinitely for sales of beer and cider on draft and for milk sold in returnable containers. Up to but no later than 31 December 1999, it could be used for sales of beer, cider, water, lemonade and fruit juice in returnable containers.
