In SI, the unit for pressure and stress, a derived unit. Symbol, Pa. One pascal is the pressure resulting from a force of 1 newton acting uniformly over an area of 1 square meter.  In terms of base units it is 

kilogram over the product of meter times seconds squared

The 14th CGPM added the pascal to SI in 1971. It is named for Blaise Pascal (1623 – 1662).
