Mandel

A unit of count, ? – 20th century, throughout Germany, Denmark, and Sweden = 15. (UN 1966) link to a chart showing relationships between terms used to indicate numbers of items.  Tradesmen also used a Gute Mandel, Bauernmandel, and Große-Mandel, all = 16.  Compare a “baker's dozen” in English.
