kin 斤

In Japan, a unit of mass, 1891 – 1966 = 600 grams.¹ Sometimes referred to as a catty. Before metrification, the kin was reported at 589 grams in 1840, and in both China and Japan Europeans regarded it as 1.325 pounds or 601 grams.
