gōnglĭ [Chinese 公里]

In China, 1959 – present, a unit of length in the gong zh� simplified metric system,  = 1 kilometer.1  The ideogram gong may be translated “official,” "common" or “public,” or in this context, “metric.”

Yīnglĭ (英里) is an English statute mile.
