A unit of land area in the Middle East.  Some values in use in the 20th century are:

Cyprus, ? - present = 1,600 square yards (approximately 1,337.8 square meters). (UN, 1966; TRNC)
Iraq = 2,500 square meters (approximately 0.62 acres). (UN, 1966) Applied to agricultural land.
Israel = 1,000 square meters (approximately 0.247 acres) (UN, 1966). Sometimes called the metric dönüm.
Jordan = 1,000 square meters (approximately 0.247 acres)(UN, 1966). Sometimes called the metric dönüm.
Lebanon cadastral dönüm = 1,000 square meters (approximately 0.247 acres)
approximately 919 square meters (approximately 0.227 acres). (UN, 1966)
Libya approximately 919 square meters (approximately 0.227 acres). (UN, 1966)
Syria Damascus approximately 919 square meters (approximately 0.227 acres). (UN, 1966).
Aleppo and Homs approximately 919.3 square meters, = 1600 square dra maghmari. (UN, 1966)
Latakia and Mohazafat approximately 800 square meters. (UN, 1966)
Turkey approximately 919.3 square meters (about 1,099 sq. yards). (UN, 1966)
Yugoslavia 700 square meters (837.2 square yards)
