In Carrara, Italy, 18th – 19th centuries, a unit of volume used to measure marble produced in the area's renowned quarries, = 25 cubic palmi (each palmo approximately 0.2436 meters), approximately 0.3613 cubic meters. A carrata of marble weighs about 1 ton avoirdupois.
