In the Cape Verde Islands, 20th century (UN 1966),
a unit of length, approximately 2.20 meters (approximately 7.22
feet). According to Doursther (1840),
it had the same value in Portugal in the 19th century.

Other authorities report the braça in Brazil with the same magnitude.
The braça is one of the units based on the distance between the fingertips of outstretched arms, like the English fathom. Compare the Spanish braza.
