These short stout nails are used to install sheet metal connectors, including
joist hangers. The appropriate size is specified by the connector manufacturer,
and frequently the connector is packaged with the necessary number of nails.
They are galvanized, and versions in stainless steel are also available.

Joist hanger nails are also available with deformed shanks for greater holding power.
