The table below shows sizes of sheets of glazing materials typically available to consumers. Of course, smaller pieces can be cut from any of these sheets. In the mid 1990s, acrylic was the same price as double layer glass or, in the larger sizes, a few dollars cheaper. Polycarbonate was about twice the price of double layer glass.
Especially with respect to the largest sizes of single layer glass, bear in mind that a sheet's being offered for sale is no guarantee the local building code permits its use. Some codes do not permit single layer glass at all.
